Felix H. Breiteneicher grew up in Landshut, Lower Bavaria (Germany), and is currently based in Berlin. He has previously lived and studied in Cologne and Bonn as well as Riga (Latvia) and Prague (Czech Republic). His main research interests concern the geostrategic analysis and foreign policy forecasting in Eurasia and the Indo-Pacific region.
He holds a Master’s degree (Ing.) with honours in ‘International and Diplomatic Studies’ from Prague University of Economics and Business (study exchange at Moscow State Institute of International Relations), as well as a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in ‘Politics & Society’ (minor in International Law) from the University of Bonn (study exchange at Riga Stradins University). He graduated with theses about Russia, China and India in Arctic geopolitics as well as Chinese diplomacy in the Balkans and Baltics.
Felix H. Breiteneicher has been working as an Associate Consultant and Public Affairs Executive for the strategic political consulting group ‘Erste Lesung’ with offices in Berlin, Brussels and Paris, where he supported various German, multinational and international clients concerning German and European policy developments – especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital identities/finance, e-health, and civil protection. He has previously worked for the Czech Institute of International Relations in Prague as well as for the Regional Representation of the European Commission for North Rhine-Westphalia/Hesse/Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland. He has gained further experience as head of the policy departments the student councils of the Universities of Bonn and Cologne and through multiple years of accompanying political volunteering.
